Husband Tag

Before I start yet another tag, I would like to complain about who on EARTH started these tags all at the same time! It's almost as bad as those forwarded e-mails!

1. Where did you meet? work

2. How long did you date before you got married? Depends on who you ask and how you define "date" (Chad had 2 jobs, making dating for us rather difficult). But I will just say 10-12 months.

3. How long have you been married? 18 months

4. What does he do that surprises you? He's so incredibly considerate it's almost a competition!

5. What is your favorite feature of his? The expressions he makes with his eyes!

6. What is your favorite quality of his? He has an incredibly funny goofy side!!

7. Does he have a nickname for you? yes, but it's a little embarrassing!

8. What is his favorite color? blue

9. What is his favorite food? If you can get him to own to one, let me know, will you??

10. What is his favorite Sport? basketball

11. When and where was your first kiss? Like 2 months after we started dating? I'll skip the rest of the gory details.

12. What is your favorite thing to do as a couple? Talk and go for hikes (I know I said two, but they're dead even and can be done at the same time).

13. Do you have any children? One beautiful little girl!

14. Does he have a hidden talent? YES! I consider his cleanliness a talent (because it is sooo not normal!)

15. How old is he? 35

16. Who said I love you first? he did, but I had to drag it out of him (like most other things).

17. What’s his favorite music? Folk. And really bad 80s rock.

18. What do you admire most about him? He's so smart it's not fair!

19. Do you think he will read this? Not likely!
I tag Rachael! (Haha!!!)

Eighteen Strong!

Okay, so I didn't really know what to title this post. Most people don't celebrate the half-years! But we do. It has been the happiest 18 months of my life being married to my wonderful spouse and I can't tell you how often I find myself counting him as the biggest and best thing that has ever happened to me! Thank you for a year-and-a-half (and I am looking forward to a lifetime more of these on top of the eternity that you have already committed to me! - ha, ha, ha).

Austin - Maybe I'll name a future son that.

For those of you who didn't know (probably because I didn't tell you), Chad has been out of town for a WHOLE week! He went on a business trip to Austin, TX, where they held a conference on Facility Management (exciting).

While he was being tortured by such a boring trip . . .

. . . Breanne and I got a lot of together time. It was great. Chad called us every night and told us how drag his day was and how much he missed us . . .

. . .Weeks seem long when you are so far apart, so I thought we might do something really exciting when he got back.

(Not that he hasn't had any excitement for the last week).

I just wanted to show you all what a Brimley family reunion looks like . . .

. . . We are such party animals!
(For some reason this reminds me of a not so distant post of naptimes . . . something about everyone else sleeping but mom. . .)
Welcome home, Chad!

Sleeping Bags

I have one word for you all: "Baby."

Yes, that kicking, pinching, screaming, drooling, scratching, cooing, pooping, laughing, punching, crying baby. It's like she does it on purpose: She MAKES me love her so she can torture me by taking away the things that mean so much to me. Which brings me to my next word: Sleep.

Or the lack thereof. I used to love sleep. In fact, I am willing to say that we used to get along very well together, like best friends. But I think the first word, baby, has offended my friend and now she rarely visits anymore. Exhibit A: the above picture. Notice who is sleeping and, therefore, who is NOT sleeping and taking the picture. Which brings me to my third word: Bags.

Not like sleeping bags. Oh no, 'cause you can put those down. They're more like non-sleeping bags. As in the kind that sit under your eyes, threatening to make you look 10 years older than you really are. It's not like I wear make-up, or anything. And even if I did, that just manages to bring it out even more. Highlight the thing that my child INSISTS that I carry around for the rest of my life as a continual reminder of her babyhood. And there we have come a complete round in my words.
Baby=(lack of) sleep=(non-sleeping) bags.
But she's just sooo cute!

Counting my blessings...

Sometimes I wonder about where else I would be right now if I hadn't married my wonderful hubby.

More often I wonder about what I would be doing if we hadn't had a little girl.

I think about what I might be doing, how far I could have taken my career, how much traveling I could have done. But then I realize how much the word "I" has come into my thoughts and I realize how happy I am that I have taken this route. My life is so full of love . . .

. . . So much love that I realize true happiness comes from the "us" and the "we" s in life, not the "I"s. And I am so grateful that families can be together forever!

(through the good times and the bad times) :)

I love my wonderful little famliy and love to love and serve them!

Ode to Naptime

Naptime, naptime! How I love you! The more you come, the more in love I find myself. You take the Children softly, gently into the crib, and crankiness is gone upon the awakening. While they are slumbering sleepily, I say, "What shall I do with myself?" O naptime, and then you give me inspiration. I think I shall sleep, too. May you never leave my life, naptime!

Caved

So, to all you who have tried ever so hard to get us to start with the whole blogging world... I finally caved. This is our blog spot and we will try to keep it updated for all you technologically savvy people. I still expect e-mails, though!!!

This is one of our engagement photos. Though you all know, here is our short bio. Chad and I met at BYU just after my mission, but it wasn't love at first sight. At least, not until I found out he was single. Then, after convincing him to ask me out, we went out and never stopped going out after that. We enjoyed our courtship, and got married March 23, 2007. I spent our one year anniversary seven months pregnant with our little girl, Breanne, who was born May 5, 2008 (two weeks early!). Chad starts his Master's program this year at BYU, and I enjoy hanging out with our little girl (encouraging her to take as long as she needs before she becomes mobile!!).
