Nursery

WELL . . .

For those of you who don't know,

we have been slaving away on a nursery that would fit two . . .

I thought I had pictures of the nursery before the remodel, but I was wrong.

Here are some pictures of what the ceiling tile and walls looked like:

Ceiling tiles . . . need I comment??

Think '70s wood paneling painted and textured . . .

This is a during shot- that red wall paper went throughout the room . . .

And landed all through our house before this expedition was over!

(Ask me why I hate wallpaper, I dare you!)

Final product:

Current ceiling- textured and painted . . . I LOVE it!

Current Walls- I hope you can see the details. Chad did such a good job.

This is a mini shelf thing that runs the perimeter of the room.

Another nice touch.

Last, this is the trim for the window and door.

There are more details, but unless you're a carpenter, it might not interest you.

This is just my favorite part :)

Although we aren't 100% done (well, I'm not 100% done), I think this is a HUGE improvement to the way it looked before. The best part about it is that it is warm for the winter and child-proofed.

Old to New

I promise I meant to do these a little more consecutively . . .

Oh Well.

Idea #2 - Take an old toy and make it new.

Here is something I did for Breanne. She is at a stage where she loves shapes and holes. So, I took some old balls that I bought to help her get excited for crawling and a potato salad container (any container will do), and made a new shape holder (circles are not as easy as they look!!).

Ta-Daa!! A new toy that also works as a storage unit for these dang balls that roll under my couch and I find a week later!!!

For those of you who like things to look nice, cover it with paint, fabric, pictures your child has drawn, etc.

StRaNgE happenings . . .

Have you ever woken up to a child who refuses to use one (or more) legs?? Literally. That was me today. And she was walking just fine last night. How does this happen? I have NO idea. Neither did the Dr (as she gave me one of those, 'how could you not know?!' looks). Kay, so it wasn't really one of those looks, but I felt like it was. She was fine when I put her to bed last night. Her crib is in our room for a short time while we make her room big enough for 2. So I think I would have heard her cry in the middle of the night if something HAD happened.

But no.

Not a peep.

Not a screech.

Not even an annoying sit up in the middle of the night.

She slept the whole night through (tossing and turning as is her norm). And then this morning, she wouldn't use her right foot. We spent the first half of the morning at the dr's office, the middle part napping, and the last half at the radiology part of the hospital.

Nothing.

As we waited (slightly impatiently) for the results, she started using her right leg again?!?! So, she is walking just fine now. Chad keeps calling her a "faker." I am just glad I left today open. Because it was FULL (of locations and emotions). I have decided it was either the wasp I found in our house this afternoon, or a bug bite.

WHO KNOWS?!?!
